In fact, Portland is such a foodie city that people from away flock to the area not just during tourist season, but year-round to indulge in some of Portland's deliciousness.

Which is why there's absolutely no shock that the discovery of quite possibly the hottest spot for date night on a Sunday evening is an already beyond popular Mexican restaurant in Portland.

It doesn't matter the time of day or the time of year, there's never a moment when Taco Escobarr in the Old Port of Portland, Maine, isn't busy. Cinco de Mayo? Better camp out on May 4 for a spot anywhere inside the restaurant. St. Patrick's Day? Prep for a long wait.

But on a day where you'd expect a lot of people to be at home either prepping for a busy work week ahead or, at least during this time of year, melted in their couch watching football, Taco Escobarr is constantly busy for the entire day.

This writer witnessed first hand how much of a dating hot spot Taco Escobarr is on a Sunday evening. During a recent visit, the only table not filled with a couple on a date or two couples on a double date was the booth occupied by me and my college roommate.

Even every single stool at the bar was taken up by couples taking in some delicious, authentic Mexican food, amazing margaritas, football on TV and just a fun, amazing atmosphere.
