Greg is staying tight lipped about pretty much all aspects of the new restaurant. So for now the name, and type of food is a mystery, but he has said he'll give up some more information next month.
A letter sent to the city council from the owners says in part that the menu of the new restaurant will be based around "barbecue traditions handed down through five generations of Eastern North Carolina pig cooking dating back hundreds of years."
City officials said there is no other option than to close that block of Congress Street because the crane being used is too wide to allow traffic to flow.

Yeah you read that right. A man was arrested by Portland Police today for blocking traffic near Congress Square in Portland. Lucky for us, Ted Varipatis of WCSH 6 happened to capture the moment because no one would believe us if he didn't.
I love looking at old black and white photos of Portland. When I do I always wish I had a time machine so that I could go back and see what things looked like in living color.
