Elvis had Graceland. Dolly has Dollywood. Prince had Paisley Park.

For years, there have been musicians with a resort-type destination that the most hardcore of fans plan one or multiple vacations to. But with situations like that, it always seems to be superstar musicians from the past.

What if a current superstar decided to brand a resort after themselves and open locations across the country?

What if that current superstar was undoubtedly the biggest superstar in music, Taylor Swift. And what one of those "locations across the country" was right here in New England?

Margaritaville Resort New England

At the time of this writing, there is a plan for a Margaritaville Resort to open in New England this summer, down on Cape Cod in Hyannis, Massachusetts.

And when you think about it, the fact Margaritaville Resorts exist all stem from Jimmy Buffett's most popular song, Margaritaville. Which turned into the reason his fans, known as Parrotheads, created epic tailgating experiences at his concerts.

The fan dedication eventually turned into Margaritaville itself becoming a brand, with a chain of restaurants opening around the country (including one in Boston in October 2023 after many, many delays), and finally, the aforementioned chain of Margaritaville Resorts opening.

Sound familiar?

New England Swifties

Not only are Taylor Swift's Swifties as dedicated -- if not, an insane amount more -- to Taylor as James' Parrotheads were dedicated to him (and still are even after his passing), but they're the reason that Taylor's Eras Tour has set numerous records, including the reason Ticketmaster legitimately broke the first day of pre-sale.

Speaking of that Eras Tour, it was in May 2023 when Taylor played three consecutive nights, all sold out, at Gillette Stadium, including quite possibly the most memorable concerts of a lot of New Englanders' lives -- that torrential downpour Saturday show.

There wasn't one fan who had a ticket that skipped that monsoon show, which means there's not one fan that wouldn't support a Taylor branded resort somewhere in New England.

Can you imagine it? Maybe called 13 Resort after her favorite number? Pools in the shape of the number 13 or even a teardrop (like the ones on her guitar -- get it?). Cabanas that you can rent that play nothing but Taylor.

A cocktail menu that's a play off of Taylor songs or album names, and food menus that do the same? Perhaps even statues of Taylor set up all over the grounds that bring you through her different eras, much like her above-referenced sold out tour?

Considering she loves New England enough to buy her Rhode Island house, who knows. Maybe she'd even kick back and relax for a week poolside with her mans Travis Kelce, too.
