I don't even know how someone does this without feeling like a complete tool.

With warmer weather teasing us, it reminds me of last year when we hit the 80s in May! We are coming up on the one-year anniversary of something I still can't believe happened.

Saturday highs were in the 80s along the coast, it was a scorcher for May 14! Inland it was even warmer. Well, there's only one thing to do and that's head to the beach! It's crazy because I knew my favorite beach would be busy and free since it was before Memorial Day. I'm gonna tell you about my favorite beach, even though I don't want to. I want to keep it a secret.

I love Ferry Beach in Scarborough. Most people go to Scarborough Beach, but if you keep driving past the golf course on the right, you'll see a beach access road that leads to a little slice of heaven. It was packed. Lots of people had the same idea. I knew parking was going to be tough. But I got extremely lucky and got a front-row spot. Phew. I spent about an hour and a half sitting in the sand and watching some dude with what looked like a ski hooked to a sail. It was gorgeous and a good 15 degrees cooler at the beach. Just what I needed.

I packed it up. And headed back to the car. That's when I heard a woman on the beach say in a loud voice,

They are about to tow six cars if you're one of the cars blocking in others.

Wait, what? Sure enough - one of Scarborough's cops had to head to Ferry Beach to fix stupid. There were 6 cars parked that blocked in 6 other cars!

Let's review. Parking was non-existent because so many people were at the beach. I've had to wait 30 minutes sometimes, but that's when there is an attendant who stops traffic. Because it was before the beach officially opened, there was no attendant and that meant people were on their own. And most were great, and pretty creative in making spots - but these DBs blocked in people! BLOCKED PEOPLE IN!!

It was a complete cluster. Come on people! I get wanting to go to the beach, but who the hell do you think you are to block in others? What if someone was at the beach and got an emergency call to go home? Nope, I can't because some lazy &^%$ couldn't wait for a spot to open.

I hope it cost them so much money that they never go back to Ferry Beach in Scarborough. Even better...I hope they are banned from ever going to Ferry again.
