Next week 8 Portland bakers will compete and raise money for a nonprofit group that teaches about healthy relationships and consent.

Cirque du OH YAY: A Carnival of Consent, the annual fundraiser for Speak About It, a nonprofit group, will take place at Rising Tide Brewing Company on Fox Street in Portland Thursday the 25th from 7pm to 10pm.

The Portland Press Herald shared the list of the eight bakers from the Greater Portland area that will be competing; Andrea Swanson from Scattaloni Bakery in Portland, Brianna Holt from Tandem Bakery in Portland, Genevieve Johnson the former Fore Street pastry chef,  Lex Hart, formerly of Forage in Portland, Lindsay Torrey from Tin Pan Bakery in Portland, Lizz DeCotti from The Purple Whisk in Westbrook, Tara Canaday from Suga Suga in Portland, and Speak About It educator and hobby baker Megan Dauphinais will all be baking for the cause. The bakers will be judged on taste, aesthetic and creative interpretation.

The whole evening will be hosted by burlesque personality Moxie Sazerac, a multi-talented performer, writer, and educator with over a decade of stage time under her (garter) belt.

Enjoy beer from Rising Tide and some non alcoholic mocktails from the Bearded Lady’s Jewel Box. Tickets available here.
