When you first see this photo, you think it's someone driving on the wrong side of the road. The red car is certainly on the wrong side of the road, but there's more going on here than meets the eye.

The photo was taken by Seth Nareff of Norway, who was in just as much disbelief as anyone else who would have seen this at the intersection of Lake, Waterford and Ashton Roads. That's the corner that The Lake Store sits on, a local store that has just about anything you need from pizza and sandwiches to liquor, groceries, and fresh meat and produce. It's been there for as long as I can remember when I took swimming lessons 40 years ago in the lake across the street.

If you look at this photo, it appears to be someone driving down the wrong side of the road and a truck moving to the wrong lane to avoid them. The truck is moving to avoid the red car, but what isn't as obvious is that there's no one in the red car. Take a look again.

The red car is parked in the middle of the wrong lane, apparently confused, thinking they are in the parking lot of The Lake Store. To give the driver a very small amount of credit, I can see how they got confused. Here's a Google Maps view of the Lake Store's parking lot.

I should note that the red car in the Google Maps photo is not the same red car as above. The Google Maps photo was taken in 2018, while the photo above was taken by Seth on Sunday.

As you can see, Ashton road runs right next to the Lake Store, but someone would have to be very confused if they didn't notice that long white line indicating where the road is as opposed to the parking lot.

This is all kinds of messed up. I'd like to give the person the benefit of the doubt that they weren't from the area, didn't notice the white line, and genuinely thought they were in the parking lot. But I just can't. What do you think they were thinking?
