During the pandemic, the human race found some pretty incredible ways to innovate.  Many of those innovations were aimed at having fun.  We needed to find ways to still have fun while social distancing.

As a result, many "in person" events were transitioned to being drive-in events.  Concerts, church services, even lights displays.  The lights display at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is a prime example of this.

Not surprisingly, one of the largest of these drive through lights displays in New England has, for the last few years, been held at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough,  Massachusetts.

Earlier today, it was announced that the Magic of Lights event would be returning to Gillette Stadium, in Massachusetts, this Holiday season.  It was also announced that it would be the last time they'd be doing the event.  As the pandemic winds down, there is a diminished need for socially distanced events (like drive through lights displays).

According to the press release, this year's event will also feature:

Foxborough will shine bright for the third consecutive holiday season as guests enjoy the thrill of spectacular light displays featuring festive favorites and accompanied by a holiday soundtrack. Guests will enjoy Magic of Lights signature displays including the 200-foot long Enchanting Tunnel of Lights, Candy Cane Lane, Toyland, 12 Days of Christmas, Prehistoric Christmas with life-sized dinosaurs celebrating the season and BIGFOOT Monster Truck.

This year's event will feature some new additions including a 32 foot tall animated Barbie.
