There's a railroad trestle that passes over a street in Duham, NC that has been struck by vehicles too tall to pass under it 84 times since 2008, and every collision was caught on video.

Jürgen Henn created the website 11foot8.com where he has all 84 videos (and counting) that he shot when he set up a camera pointed at the overpass. The clearance is, you guessed it, 11 feet 8 inches.

It has plenty of warning signs, a flashing light warning vehicles that are over height, and a steel beam installed by the railroad to bear the brunt of a collison. The beam gets a work out because it's already been replaced once.

Some Darwin awards should be given out to these people. How much of a warning to you need to be aware that you're about to open the top of your truck like a sardine can?

One guy with an RV cleared the overpass, but lost everything on his roof including the air conditioner. The best part is he just kept on driving! I bet he was in for a surprise when he set up camp and went to turn on the AC.
