This US Map Ranks the Most Couch Potatoes Per State, and You May Not Believe Where Maine Lands
The real estate app Estately has recently put together a map of the U.S. showing which states have the most couch potatoes per capita.
Estately defines a couch potato like this: "hours per day spent watching TV, Laz-E-Boy retailers per capita, fast food restaurants per capita, exercise frequency, obesity rate, hours worked per day, expressed interest in soap operas on Facebook, and Google searches for video game rentals."
I figured with that criteria Maine would have to be in the top 10. I was wrong! But we did come in first place for something!!
Estately reports that Ohio takes the cake (probably right back to the couch) as the state with the most couch potatoes and the people in Hawaii have the least.
Maine is ranked 34th overall, according to Estately. It is 42nd for TV watching, 40th for Laz-E-Boy retailers, 46th for fast-food restaurants per capita, 33rd in exercising the least, 37th for the obesity rate, 1st for working the fewest hours per day, 17th for expressed interest in soap operas on Facebook, and 32nd on Google searches for video game rentals.
Here's where the rest of the country ended up.:
So, way to go Mainers for working the fewest hours per day, let's keep that up!
