On Saturday, the general public will have the rare opportunity to climb and learn about over two dozen historic Maine lighthouses, up and down the coast!

Sponsored by the US Coast Guard, the Maine Office of Tourism, and the American Lighthouse Foundation, "Maine Open Lighthouse Day" is attended by more than 18,000 people each year.

All lighthouses listed below will be open from 9:00am to 3:00pm for visitors and the very special chance to see inside the famous landmarks.

It was great day for an open house on Little River Island yesterday. A big thanks to ALF's Friends of Little River Lighthouse for their efforts!

For more information, visit the Maine Open Lighthouse Day page at the American Lighthouse Foundation's website here.

The American Lighthouse Association, based in Rockland, helps to ensure that our world-famous beacons continue to thrive as special places that help enrich the cultural fabric of our coastal communities and the lives of the countless visitors they touch. From admiring the beauty of America's lighthouses from the sea or the shore, or "walking in the steps of the keepers," the association works to keep these landmarks open, updated, and accessible to the public.
