It's hard to believe it's been months since we could browse the glorious aisles of TJ Maxx.

TJ Maxx has always been one of those stores you enter not necessarily looking for something in particular. You went to TJ Maxx to have TJ Maxx tell you what you needed. Which could be almost anything...

Reasonably priced designer handbags or shoes.

Workout attire (that you may or may not just wear on the couch).

Home decor and furniture.

And SO. MUCH. MORE.

If you're like me, visiting a store like TJ Maxx or their sister store Marshalls is fun. There's a little bit of everything, and nothing feels better than finding a great bargain. Not to mention the thrill of knowing that the next time you go, there could be a completely different inventory.

So here we are. It's been months since we've been able to visit thanks to the coronavirus, but for Mainers, this is all going to change on Monday, June 15th.

There are 9 locations in Maine:

Auburn
Augusta
Bangor
Biddeford
Brunswick
Ellsworth
Rockland
South Portland
Waterville

Each store currently has a pre-recorded phone message stating that they plan to reopen on Monday, June 15th. Of course, make sure you double-check with your local store before you visit, just to be sure.

According to a press release from TJ Maxx, they are implementing new health and safety practices that include associates being required to wear a mask, expecting customers to wear face coverings, increasing cleaning in the store, health screenings of associates, and more that you can read here.

TJ Maxx is also owned by the same parent company that owns Marshalls. It's unclear if they will all be opening as well, but the Bangor Marshalls location did confirm on their automated voice message that they plan to reopen on Monday as well.
