Relatedly, how does supporting local nursing students sound?

This Thursday, October 18th, you can do both. From 5-8pm, USM Nursing students will host a Nursing Raffle FUNdraiser at Brian Boru to support their upcoming trip. This January, USM nursing students are heading to the Dominican Republic to help provide health care in homes, schoolrooms, and churches. They will join together with Partners for Rural Health in the Dominican Republic to help serve over 2,000 people in 15 mountain villages where there is limited access to medical care. Money raised in the fundraiser will go toward medical equipment, supplies, and medications.

Tickets are $5 each, or 5 tickets for $20.

You can see what the Partners for Rural Health are up to in their video and check out more details about the fundraiser on their event facebook page.
