WATCH: Massive Waves Completely Drench Thunder Hole Viewing Point

Thunder Hole in Acadia National Park earned it's name from the thunderous roar the water makes as it crashes into the rocky cavern. After treacherous weather last week, Thunder Hole was as powerful as ever.

See that walking path and railing completely swallowed but the powerful waves? In the summer that's loaded with people admiring the ocean and trying to capture the perfect photo of the water spouting up out of the hole.
