It's tough to forget the 2019 spinning ice disk that made NATIONAL HEADLINES in Westbrook, Maine (mainly because it looked so cool and it was MASSIVE), but they're popping up again this year for us to enjoy!

A few days ago, we pointed out the spinning ice disk that had formed just west of Bangor, Maine, at Small Falls waterfall. But not to be outdone, New Hampshire was like "HOLD MY HOT COCOA!" - because one has formed in North Woodstock, NH.

Facebook user Sue Drew posted this quickie video of an ice spinning disk that had formed at the Pemi River Swimming Hole in North Woodstock, that her friend Greig had shot, in the u Local New Hampshire group on Facebook.

According to the Bangor Daily News, ice disks can often be formed when a chunk of ice is repeatedly spun around by flowing water creating a floating ice circle or disk. The chunk grinds against other pieces of ice while it rotates, which creates the perfect circle shape we all see.

Not that we all didn't know we lived in a really scenic part of the country anyway, but I feel like the dumpster fire that has been 2020 has made us really appreciate the things we do have, like amazing views of nature in our geographical region.

Sometimes, you need to take the W (win) where you can get it -- this year has been full of that, and I don't know about you, but I'll take the calming, serene images of a few spinning ice disks in New England as a massive win while we inch closer to closing out, as noted in the last paragraph, a dumpster fire of a year.
