“We Are Bangor” Video Reminds the World It’s Not Pronounced BANG-GER [VIDEO]

Bangor Maine has had a problem with its name for years. Anyone outside of the state of Maine pronounces Bangor wrong. Well now there's a video that should clear up the confusion.

I understand the confusion. A lot of words ending in "-or" are pronounced with an "er". Sailor, tailor, razor, alligator. It makes sense it should be pronounced "Bang-ger." We of course know better.

The video, a parody of "We Are The World," features several Bangor celebrities from TV and media and even the Bangor Police Department who have the funniest police department Facebook page in the world. 

Maybe we should make a video to help the people who pronounce Saco, "Say-co." You don't pronounce the delicious Mexican dish a "tay-co" do you?
