I grew up and learned how to drive in the fine state of Massachusetts. Living in Massachusetts has lots of perks, and I have nothing but respect for my fellow Massholes (I can call them that, because I am one).

However, after living in New Hampshire for a few years, there is something I immediately notice when I cross the state border. People drive more aggressively once you enter Massachusetts. This is just a fact, Jack.

It's a result of a multitude of factors, but I think the biggest reason is that it's higher population. More congestion in the state means more people driving on the road, thus creating MORE TRAFFIC. Nothing makes people a less pleasant version of themselves than sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic. People are cranky, they're running late to wherever they need to be, and therefore are more apt to cut you off with no turn signal or a single care about your needs or feelings.

From living here, I can tell that New Hampshire is a relatively safe state to drive in. I see far less accidents on the road, and most drivers seem to be less in a hurry compared to other states.

I didn't realize that I am currently living in one of the safest states to drive in in the country. A website called Stacker ranked the 50 U.S. states from the most to least dangerous to drive in.

New Hampshire ranked at #49! Are you ready for a plot twist? Massachusetts was ranked the most safe state to drive in in the country! What the heckity heck? Shows how much I know.

Check out the full list here (the #1 most dangerous state to drive in might be the most shocking!).
