Wiscasset Police Warn of Bears on the Loose
Wiscasset police are warning residents to be on the lookout for bears! The Bangor Daily News and the Lincoln County News are reporting that the local police are telling residents of Wiscasset to stay alert, and be on the lookout for hungry fuzzy friends.
There have been two different reports of bear activity in the area over the last week, including a destroyed bird feeder, and another sighting of a bear heading down Lee Street, in the direction of High Street.
Bears that enter towns are usually hungry, and scavenging for some yummy stuff to munch on. Black bear season in Maine opens later in August.
