Hearts are heavy at York's Wild Kingdom in Maine this week. A white Bengal tiger and beloved family member named Rewa has passed away, according to York's Wild Kingdom Facebook page. The post indicates that Rewa died due to "the natural progression of age." She was only 15.

The outpouring of love and condolences from the community is overwhelming. People from all over New England and beyond are sharing their memories of seeing Rewa at the zoo and pictures of her throughout the years. Parents, in particular, are telling stories of taking their kids to see the Bengal tiger when they were younger. Rewa was definitely a fan favorite at York's, and will be greatly missed.

Rewa is now running across the Rainbow Bridge to hunt with other Bengal tigers in the wild. May she rest in peace.
