Your iPhone 6/6S Could Be Eligible for Replacement Due to Unexpected Shutdown Issues
Since I got my iPhone 6S nearly two years ago I've been dealing with random shutdown issues and terrible battery life. I chalked it up to technology or the few hundred times I've clumsily dropped my phone on various hard surfaces.
Turns out, a certain range of iPhone 6/6S phones that were manufactured between September and October 2015 were recalled for unexpected shutdown issues. Unexpected shutdown issues? That's precisely what I've been dealing with since I got my phone.
I checked with Apple, and my phone is eligible for replacement. Here's how to check if your phone is eligible for repair or replacement.
Check Your iPhone's Recall Status
- Visit Apple's Recall site for Unexpected Shutdown Issues.
- Find your phone's serial number under Settings > General > About.
- Enter serial number on the site.
- If your iPhone is eligible, schedule a replacement or repair option.
