What the heck is Cowboy Candy?

It's the spicy creation from the minds of Mike and Dalia Esposito - the founders of Giuseppe’s Best.

“Giuseppe” is a nickname given to their son Joey by his late great-grandfather, Joseph Salvatore Esposito. He always talked to Joey in Italian and was so proud that he was named after him, like many of the other boys in the Esposito family.

They have a pretty simple mission: bring traditional Italian flavors with a healthy and unique twist to people. Their sauces are made simply and deliciously in Portland, and will easily because become regular ingredients in your family’s dishes!

I'm lucky, because I get to sample Mike and Dalia's cooking as they took over City Deli, right at One City Center - where our radio stations are! I often treat myself to something yummy from City Deli. Next, I'm diving into their marinara sauce, and I can't wait!

Little did I know Mike and Dalia were the creators of Cowboy Candy! That is candied jalapenos! And they are sweet and spicy! A perfect addition to your favorite sandwich or salad! I ate one straight up and a chocolate chip cookie cooled the fire..and then I went back for more. I felt like a real cowboy! You can order yours here or head to City Deli right in Monument Square in Downtown Portland.
