At Whittier Middle School, they believe students are at their best when they have a chance to be active.  Building movement into the school day has a positive impact on students’ behavior, confidence, focus and preparedness to learn.

This is the 7th year for the Tri-Town Family 5K. It was created to celebrate Bruce M. Whittier Middle School's Couch-to-5K program in the fall of 2012.  Originally named the Whittier Family 5K, the first race was a great success with 236 people finishing the run/walk event. Since that first race, almost 1,400 people have crossed the finish line!

The running program has become part of the Whittier Middle School curriculum and is something that has inspired healthy habits for many students and taught them the valuable lesson of goal setting!

The Q has been a huge supporter of this great program and we are doing it again! Here are students who have excelled at the program!
