It's no secret that the sound of Alvin and the Chipmunks is achieved by speeding actors and singers voices up. But what happens when you bring Alvin and the Chipmunks back to normal speed is pretty creepy.

Electronic musician Brian Borcherdt went through the process of slowing Chipmunks songs down to a speed that made them sound like real humans instead of high pitched rodents. What you hear is very creepy, but you can't help but keep listening.

The problem with slowing the songs down so that the voice is sound human is that the music gets slowed down to a state of near depressions. 'My Sharona' and 'Walk Like an Egyptian' at this speed is almost haunting.

Take a listen and prepare to be creeped out.
