An estimated 1 out of 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls are diagnosed with autism in the United States. Autism Spectrum Disorder affects more than 3 million in the U.S.

 

Approximately 100 individuals are diagnosed every day with autism in the U.S. Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S.

The first step is recognition and education. That's where Jessica Crane comes in. For the third year, she is hosting Autism Awareness Day in Rockland on April 8th!

Outside Of The Box is hosting the event full of education, awareness, fun and money for our local Autism Organizations! This is a FREE event.

The event will include information booths from local CDS, special education teachers, Maine Autism Society, Maine Autism Institute for Education and Research, Police and Fire safety, a local pre school with special education services are available, and specialized Autism Services.

We will have fun activities for the kiddos, bounce houses will be set up, scoot boards and tunnels, make and take crafts, sensory tubs, refreshments and light music.

Autism Awareness items will be available for sale, as well as a VERY LARGE silent auction with many, many items donated by local businesses! If you give a cash donation upon arrival you will also be entered to win a prize in our raffle. All proceeds are local Autism Organizations.

We are very excited to see you all there in hopes of making this day extremely successful!

Please note this event is ALL INCLUSIVE. Everyone is welcome, families and friends that are or are not effected by Autism.
