WCSH 6 former sports anchor is being honored with an induction into the Maine Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame, a well deserved award for a man who many of us in Southern Maine grew up watching.

I remember watching Bruce as a kid back in the days when there was no ESPN or NESN and you got ALL the days sports from the local TV station. If you wanted to know if the Red Sox won that day, Bruce told you and gave you the highlights. No smart phones or internet to send you an instant update.

Bruce retired in 2012 after 35 years as the sports director for WCSH.

He was overwhelmed when Lee Goldberg told him the good news at the 25th Annual Maine Lobster Bowl in Biddeford on Saturday, an event that Bruce has always been a part of.

Congratulations Bruce! You're a true legend.
