Cumberland Fire Department Celebrates 100 Years in Pictures [VIDEO]

2015 marks the 100th year since Cumberland, Maine's Fire Department was formed. Things have changed a lot over the last 100 years, but the people who work for the department are dedicated to the same thing they've always been - their community.

The video features members of the department reminding us that it's not just about fighting fires. Fire departments do so much more beyond putting out fires that sometimes goes unnoticed.

The Cumberland Fire Department, and all fire departments for that matter, are all about the people and communities they serve. These people are willing to put their lives on the line to help protect us and save us from danger.

Watching the video, it's amazing to see how much firefighting has evolved in Cumberland over the last 100 years. The trucks gets bigger, the ladders get taller, the hoses get stronger. The people however, remain the same.
