Tomorrow (Friday) is the sixth annual "Dentists Who Care for ME" event. Twenty Maine dentists will offer free teeth cleanings, fillings and extractions for people who cannot afford regular dental care or do not have dental insurance. Patients can receive one oral care service or they will be referred to a specialist and given a voucher for their care.

The Dentists Who Care program was started by Dr. Demi Kouzounas and Dr. Barry Saltz who practice in Scarborough. They said at least 600 people were helped as part of this campaign last year and they expect an equal if not bigger turnout this year. The Portland Press Herald ran this story today about the event.
