Eleanor Clare Paye passed away in 2010 after a brave fight with cancer. She was only 5. She had a very rare cancer (Pleuropulmonary Blastoma) and doctors gave her 2-6 months to live. She made it to 20 month before passing. To honor this sweet little girl, every year they hold a fundraiser at Ken's Seafood Restaurant. It's National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Jen Skinsacos, the bar manager at Ken's is hosting a fundraiser this Thursday from 4-8 PM. The Eleanor Clare Paye Charitable Fund, aka Power of Elle is a local "charitable fund that honors the life and memory of Eleanor Clare Paye through awarding scholarships and making donations and/or grants for the benefit of children. Such efforts include, but are not limited to donations to medical programs and hospitals that research and/or treat pediatric cancer; scholarships and/or grants for dance and other art programs; and gifts to schools."

This year is the 4th year she will be hosting this fundraiser at Ken's Place. The owner, Dave Wilcox, is kind enough to let her use his business as a venue, and the idea is simple... Friends and family gather for dinner, drinks and each other's company to celebrate the life of Elle. Meanwhile, any and all tips Jen makes at the Raw Bar go directly to the fund. In the past 3 years she has raised about $5000 just doing this.
