Genius or Stupid? How I Changed a Very High Light Bulb With No Ladder – [PICS]

I personally think this was genius. Jen and the kids were gone this past weekend and I was bound and determined to change a light bulb that had been out for weeks! But how....

So here's where it is.

It's really hard to get a good perspective and not show you how trashed the house is...

The only real way to change this light bulb (which I think I last did about 4 years ago!) is to get a ladder and lean it up against the half wall. You know, set it up on the stairs and hope for the best. But I could NOT find any *&^%$ ladder! But I did find this...

Ahhh, almost there. Just a quick adjustment and viola! Problem solved!

Okay...now to test out the theory!

One small move. A sneeze. A cat, dog or spider - and WHAMO I'm on my back rolling down a flight of stairs. But alas, I did it and it worked and I have to say - it felt pretty genius to me.

Have you ever jury rigged something and thought, 'Damn. That was brilliant!'? I want to know. And yes, you can borrow my waste paper basket upside down on the stairs idea, any time you'd like.
