Hannaford Supermarkets has announced that they will be building a second store in Brunswick in the Cook's Corner Mall.

The Portland Press Herald reports that Hannaford will build in the space that was used by Brunswick Bookland and the space currently occupied by Staples, which will move to another location in the mall. It will create 150 new jobs.

The new store will compliment the store on Maine Street which will be getting a modernization including adding the popular Hannaford to Go service that allows you to order your groceries online and pick them up at the store without having to get out of your car.

Reaction on social media has been pretty positive with most saying that the new store will be very convenient for a lot of people since Cooks Corner is a major shopping and dining area of Brunswick.

If Hannaford gets approval from the planning board, which seems likely, construction should start this summer.
