My friend Gary bought an ATV and invited us for a ride this weekend on the trails through Waterford and I had a blast! Forget hiking. This is the way I want to enjoy the outdoors.

We rode in a Kawasaki Teryx4 and this thing is amazing.

The first ride I took was Saturday at sunset to the top of Hawk Mountain. I've hiked up Hawk several times but from our campsite to the probably takes an hour or so. This thing climbed it in about 10 minutes, making easy work of giant boulders, ditches and mud.

The only thing it doesn't have yet is a windshield, which not only made it cold on Saturday night, but when Gary went through a giant puddle, I got most of it in my face.

On Sunday it was much warmer, so we hit the trails through the woods in Waterford. We were trying to make our way to Patch Mountain in Norway.

One the way we went through woods, fields, sand pits and even up high enough where I got this picture of Papoose Pond in Waterford.

As you can see in the video, we had no problems getting through any terrain. The only thing that stopped us was a gate at the Waterford/Norway. The gate was locked but the trail went to the left of it with just enough room to let most ATVs through, except for ours.

We ended up heading back to Waterford and calling it a day, but it was so much fun.
