I was searching the #portlandmaine hashtag on Instagram yesterday and landed on the most delicious photo of a breakfast sandwich. Since Lori and I spend most of the off-air time on the Q Morning Show talking about food, I said in my out loud voice while shoving the photo in her face, "What is this? I need it."

The breakfast sandwich was from Dutch's on Preble Street. I'd never heard of Dutch's but after this photo, I needed to get familiar. Lori perked up and said, "Oh! I have a gift card to Dutch's! Let's go after the show. I know right where it is."

I knew Dutch's was on Preble Street because I Googled it. Lori swore up and down that Dutch's was on Forest Avenue. She was so confident that it was on Forest Avenue that I couldn't fight her on it. Maybe Dutch's moved and forgot to update their website?

Nope. It was definitely on Preble Street. So we took a longer walk on a gorgeous day. It could've been worse.

When we finally arrived at Dutch's, I was famished. The interior feels like a giant vintage postcard...Maybe because of the giant vintage postcard-style mural on the wall and the many vintage prints hanging on every surface.

Because we took a little detour on our walk I was worried we missed the window for breakfast. Luckily, Dutch's serves breakfast until 3 p.m. so we had plenty of time. We both ordered a Traditional breakfast sandwich with avocado, Lori's with ham and mine with bacon. Next time I go, I want to try out the Chicken Biscuit.

We grabbed our sandwiches (they came out quick!) and headed back to the studio to chow down. Since we got them to go they cheese got a little melty in the paper and made the sandwich a little less photogenic than the one I saw on Instagram, but it was still a stellar breakfast sandwich. The biscuit was ridiculous.

I'll definitely go back to Dutch's for another sandwich. This time, I'm not letting Voornas navigate the walk.
