Talk about a blast from the past!

Let's travel back to a day when Alanis Morissette, Hootie & The Blowfish, and No Mercy were the hot new songs playing on "The NEW Q 97.9!" And if you were the right caller, you might even score a limited edition CD-ROM from your favorite DJ, but you might have to sit thought a few Jolly John commercials first.

If you turned on the Q between '97 and '99, you would have heard Meredith taking calls for a trip to see the hot boy band NSYNC in Boston, Jeff playing that "new" Bon Jovi song, and don't forget the fax machine! Yes... Jeff used to take fax requests for the All Request Lunch!

The clips above are from March 1997, April 1998, and August 1999.

WJBQ launched its current Top 40 format in 1996, and we're still going strong today! Before WJBQ was "Q97.9," it was home to some of the most amazing talent to ever work in radio. The "old JBQ" saw the likes of Harry Nelson, Bill Lee, Wally Brine, and many more.
