Lou’s Friend Got Carried Away With Her Cake Decorating

For a wine-tasting birthday trip in Sonoma last weekend, my friend handcrafted what may be the most impressive homemade cake I've ever seen. I've gotten creative with sprinkles and frosting before, but she essentially recreated the Great Wine Spill of '72 (made up event for the purpose of giving this cake a cool title). My favorite part after taking pictures was extracting that wine glass and licking off the butter cream frosting. That's about where the classy air of our evening came to a screeching halt. But boy, was it delicious!
