But for one state in particular, according to a recent study, it's all about love, and it's a day that not many residents want to spend alone or without a partner in some way, shape, or form.

Tinder, Bumble, PoF, OkCupid -- there's a solid chance that one of, if not all, of those dating apps either are, or once have been, on your smart device. And in New England, there's one state in particular where dating apps may be seen the most, not just in this region, but in the entire country.

Maine Most Active on Dating Apps

According to a few different studies, Maine tops the country when it comes to being the most active state on dating apps -- and most specifically, Tinder.

Data released by the website Bedbible.com shows that of all the states in the country, Maine is not only the most active on Tinder, and not only searches the most Tinder keywords on Google, but also Googles the most dating-related terms as well.

Terms including but not limited to "dating," "how to date," "tinder," "tinder dating," "speed dating near me," "online dating," "pick up line ideas," and more are Googled the most in Maine -- an average of nearly 60,000 times per month.

Which makes this stat about Maine couples cheating more near Valentine's Day interesting, since, clearly, based on all the searching, Maine is also desperate for love.
