Mainers love the weather! Some are meteorologist wannabes!

Heidi Varle loves the weather and storms. I wonder if she will be busy today! She was chasing and photographing them a few years ago, and WMTW made her an official storm spotter! But the best part about Heidi's involvement is the awesome commercial they made, featuring her dedication to all things weather!

This was almost nine years ago, but she is still a trained storm spotter!

Ever wonder who those people are that give you the amount of rain in an area, or how much snow dropped in such and such town? Those are weather enthusiasts like Heidi!

When she chases a storm, she sets up her equipment and then waits for the perfect shot to share with the world. She's been a weather watcher for almost 15 years. There's lots and lots of weather to watch! She's got a great eye to catch the beauty of the weather.

She's had a weather station, and collected rain data for WMTW. Back in her heyday of weather watching, she would send storm data to WMTW TWICE A DAY! I don't even watch the weather twice a day! That's how good and dedicated she is!

Are you an amateur weather watcher? Have you ever reported your findings to one of the local news stations? I know that any sunset picture I see on the news comes from you all out there. I love that so many Mainers love Maine's weather!
