My Mom Left Us When I Was 8. It Was Our Family Scandal.

My family scandal was never talked about. I am convinced that we all have a scandal of some sort.

Now that my mom and dad have passed, I don't know if I'll ever really know what happened. But here's the scoop.

When I was about 8-years old, my mom left. I don't even know how long she was gone, but I think it was for about a month. She changed her name and got an apartment in Scottsdale Arizona. We lived in Idaho. I remember that because when she came back, she brought us a bunch of neat things with Scottsdale Arizona on them.

I asked mom about it when I was older and she kinda just said that after her mom passed away, she just needed to get away. And then she blamed it on hormones. She blamed everything on hormones. Weather, sneezing, dad's bad moods, undone homework....

I think about that time as a kid a lot. I remember my siblings, my dad and the calls at night from Mom. Just weird...
