On Saturday, May 14th, I faced my biggest fear and went over the edge of One City Center to support Rippleffect. Rappelling down the building where I work was one of the scariest things I've ever done. Lucky for me, the entire crew from Over the Edge, Rippleffect, and all of the volunteers made me feel safe, comfortable, excited and proud of what I was about to do.

Right before I stepped over the edge, I took a peek at the daring individuals lowering themselves down before me. Leaning over the edge gave me a massive case of butterflies in my stomach.

The scariest moment of the entire experience was stepping up on the ledge, leaning back into the harness, and feeling the ropes catch me. The volunteers helped me steady my breathing and relax into the rappelling position. The view from the top was incredible. As you can see on my face, I was very excited to get over the first big step.

Chris Low AKA RCL, an account executive in the office, joined me for the rappel. I'm so glad I had a buddy to keep me smiling the whole way down.

I'm so proud of myself for facing my big fear of heights. I'm definitely still scared of heights, but I gained so much confidence through the entire rappelling experience. I'll definitely do it again next year.
