Secret Santa may have retired and now calls Florida home, but he's back in Maine to help Lewiston.

The identity of Secret Santa truly is a secret. What isn't a secret is what Secret Santa hopes to accomplish by handing out 100-dollar bills. He wants to help those who need a little boost this holiday season! This year was a tough one for Lewiston. Because of that, Secret Santa has doubled what he gives out this year, and is personally coming to make a difference.

Once we go all over Lewiston, Secret Santa isn't done! Through his generosity, we will be able to continue the giving in other parts of Maine, from Biddeford to Oxford and any place in between. We aren't just helping Secret Santa pay it forward. We are also spreading the want to keep paying it forward! That's Secret Santa's true goal. He'd like the spirit to live well beyond the surprise of extra money during the holidays.

What's the catch?

There is one catch. You have to keep the spirit of random acts of kindness going. It doesn't have to be financial. It can be as simple as a smile. That's the catch. It's a pretty tiny catch for $100.

Giving out money is an incredible task. But it's the aftermath that might be my favorite. This will be our 10th year helping Secret Santa. He has done it for nearly 20. Just recently, I saw a woman who dug into her purse and took out the note from above. She told the story about how I handed her $100 years ago, and it really made a difference. And she carries that note to remind her of that kindness.

That's what it's all about.
