Anna-Maria Hefele has a viral video because of the way she sings. She uses polyphonic overtone techniques, also known as "throat singing." She can sing two notes at the same time! She tries to explain what she's doing in the video, but I have no idea. I just think it's really cool. On her website, (which is in German and more confusing than her singing!) she says she's been practicing this since 2005.

Polyphonic overtone singing started in southwestern Mongolia, where it is known as sygyt.

Here's the good news! She gives lessons and they are coming up! Just book a flight to Austria for her workshop Oct. 25-26. It's only 190 euros per person (241.30 cashola!)
