ISIS kills 49 at a gay nightclub in Orlando ... a man was stopped with a huge supply of weapons at a gay pride parade in Los Angeles -- and Portland Pride has started. Don't let fear stop your pride.

It's been such a joyful weekend for me, and an emotional one too. I bought a car, the Old Port Festival was so much fun -- and there were two incidents in our country that made me hold my head.

49 people were killed at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Over 50 others injured. Isis has claimed responsibility. In Los Angeles, while pursuing a prowler, police came across a man who said he was waiting for a friend. They checked out his car -- it was loaded with weapons, ammunition and stuff to make a pipe bomb.

He told the officer he was there for the gay pride parade. His license plate was from Indiana.

All while the 10 days of Portland Pride continues with a weekend coming up of pure joy and celebration.

I will be involved again. This time co-hosting the parade on Saturday with Craig Miller. I am so looking forward to it.

It got me thinking ... maybe some people are afraid. I don't blame them. But I want to encourage everyone who was planning to take part in any of the Pride Portland activities to do it!

DO NOT LET FEAR KEEP YOU FROM SHOWING YOUR PRIDE

There are terrorists in this world, there are gay bashers in this world ... but our pride is bigger. Our community is bigger. The love is stronger than the hate.

That's all. I'm not getting on a high horse. It's just about living your life. Living it despite the a-holes in the world. They will always be there, but they won't always win.
