The Famous Moxie Store in Lisbon Falls Has Been Sold
The Kennebec Fruit Company, known to Moxie Festival goers as The Moxie Store has new owners who plan to reopen in time for this summer's festival.
According to the Sun Journal, the building was bought by Tony and Traci Austin of Lisbon. The Moxie Store has been a landmark for Lisbon Falls since it opened in 1917 as the Kennebec Fruit Company. It was passed down through generations to long-time owner Frank Anicetti, known to anyone who stopped into the Moxie Store each year during the Moxie Festival.
To honor Frank, the new owners will keep the look and charm of the building as close to what it has been for so many years while turning it into a new family-friendly pub called 'Frank's. There's a lot of work ahead for the new owners as they clean up and renovate to be ready in time for the Moxie Festival in Lisbon July 7-9.
