Don't worry, I didn't have "write about urinals" on my bingo card, either. But here we are.

New England BBQ Restaurants

If there's anything I appreciate most about restaurants, it's great food, great service, and some creativity mixed in there somewhere, too.

Now, since I lived in Oklahoma for a couple of years, I'll be fully transparent. Like being born and raised here in New England has turned me into a seafood snob for having it anywhere else, Oklahoma did that to me when it comes to BBQ food.

But, that said, a BBQ restaurant in New Hampshire has entered my life, and I have to say, they're not far off from boxing with the Gods of BBQ that are out in the midwest. They also have one of the coolest urinals I've ever used, too. (That feels like a TMI line, but seriously, it's wicked cool. Let me live my simple life, ok?)

Road Hawg BBQ Gorham NH

The story of Road Hawg BBQ Swine Dining in Gorham, New Hampshire, has a pretty interesting story of how it became to be an actual restaurant (with the longest possible restaurant name in history).

According to the official website, Road Hawg BBQ actually started out as just an annual pig roast during Memorial Day Weekend at the owners' Vermont home. After competing in countless BBQ competitions, it led to a custom-built BBQ food trailer starting a new side hustle, which led to a Best Food Award win in 2015 at the infamous Fryeburg Fair, which led to the Cooking Channel calling for a feature on their Carnival Eats show, which finally led to the massive boost in popularity and the need for a brick and mortar restaurant.

Road Hawg BBQ Swine Dining is located inside of the former Pizza Hut location on Route 16 in Gorham. And while the story of Road Hawg BBQ came to be positioned at that location is a unique one, the story of the most creative urinal they have in the men's bathroom at their location is a pretty simple one.

Because, as you can see, they simply cut open a portion of one of the kegs used to sling drinks inside their restaurant, added a drain, connected the plumbing, and allowed customers to re-deposit the beer they drink at each visit inside the keg it came from.

Not to worry, though. Even though the consumed beer is re-deposited back into a keg, doesn't mean the beer is re-used. The owners and staff at Road Hawg BBQ are creative artists and culinary legends, not disgusting sickos, duh.

Also, props on a ridiculously clean bathroom, too. Not too often you see that at a restaurant.
