Foodallergy.org has introduce the Teal Pumpkin Project to create a safer, happier Halloween for the 6.9 million kids living with food allergies that range from nuts, dairy, eggs, gluten and more. If you want to send a message that you are giving out treats that include kids on special diets, then put a teal colored pumpkin out! These allergies are for real, I just came from a birthday party where a sweet seven year old boy is on a special non-inflammatory diet because he has Lyme disease. If you know a child with a food allergy, you understand how much it impacts not just their life, but their family's.

Here are some ideas from the Teal Pumpkin Project for Halloween treats that every kid will enjoy!

  • Glow sticks and bracelets
  • Mini Slinkies
  • Whistles and Kazoos
  • Spider rings
  • Vampire Fangs
  • Mini Halloween Note Pads
  • Super Balls
  • Temporary Tattoos
  • Stickers

These are just a few, cruise through your local Dollar Store or Halloween Store for a lot more great ideas that will keep all the goblins happy! You can also give out candy in a separate bowl, and let kids choose, "Candy or Prize".
