Tom Brady Admits Iconic Play Leading to Patriots’ Super Bowl Win Was Wrong?

Who is the G.O.A.T.?

For some, this isn't even a question. There is an entire generation, possibly two, that grew up watching Tom Brady go from hardly heard of backup Quarterback for the New England Patriots behind Drew Bledsoe, to absolute legend, icon, future hall of famer, and Greatest of All Time.

For others, they're growing up as we speak with their own version of the G.O.A.T. being Patrick Mahomes. Hell, even Brady's buddies reference Mahomes as being the G.O.A.T. on a recent trip to Australia in the video below.

And although there are plenty of reasons and facts that support TB12 being referenced as the G.O.A.T., there is one that stands out above the rest, and really started his journey of being considered the greatest to ever do it.

And if you followed the path to the Patriots' first-ever Super Bowl win, you know exactly the moment we're talking about.

The Tuck Rule

Back in 2001, on their quest to win their first Super Bowl title in franchise history, the Patriots had a Divisional game against the then-Oakland Raiders, most memorable for the insanely snowy conditions, an epic game-winning field goal from then-kicker Adam Vinatieri, and, of course, the Tuck Rule.

For those not familiar, there was a play where Brady was hit as he was about to throw, lost the ball in what looked like a fumble, and the Raiders recovered, seemingly ending the Pats' season.

Long story short, after many reviews of the play, it was ruled that the play was actually considered an incomplete pass due to the forward motion of Brady's arm when the ball came out of his hand on the hit.

And the rest, as we know, is history.

Or it was, anyway, until a video posted on the ESPN NFL Instagram from a couple of years ago caught Brady talking about the play, and possibly catching him slip up?

In the video, Brady was explaining the difference between a ball being tucked and not being tucked and what would happen in each scenario, when he may have outed himself getting away with the legendary play.

Fumble. (Hesitation) Or in this case, Tuck Rule!

Busted...big time? Or just an honest mistake?
