Vegan Paradise & Hangover Hangout: Silly’s in Portland, Maine [VIDEO]

Portland, Maine locals are no stranger to Silly's massive portions, extensive menu, and insane vegan offerings. This spot is a brunch favorite and lunch staple, plus their dinner dishes and cozy atmosphere are the perfect out-of-downtown option for those looking for something with a little bit more quirk.

Owner Colleen Kelley dreams up many of the dishes and their creative monikers herself. Her staff say that Silly's has a soul and personality that continues to evolve with every meal served.

I recently dined at Silly's for a late night dinner. I ordered The Empire Strikes Mac, an overflowing dish of pulled pork, buffalo mac and cheese, and pickled zucchini relish, and washed it down with a drink special that was chilled with homemade berry ice cubes. Everything is homemade at Silly's, which makes it that much more delicious.

Vegan? Gluten Free? Pescatarian? Silly's will take care of you, even for dessert. The vegan cakes will make you wonder why we ever needed eggs in the first place.
