People who have lived in Maine for a long time may be very familiar with the name Brian Phoenix. He's a legend in radio broadcasting in Maine, where he was a DJ on several stations (including the original WJBQ, where he even served as the program director).

You may have heard Phoenix's voice on The Dollar Saver Show, which he hosted in the 1990s and 2000s on WPXT and WPME TV. It offered viewers the opportunity to buy discount gift certificates to local businesses.

Like many radio DJs, he also has his own DJ service for weddings and parties. It was at one of those weddings that Brian, who is almost 72 years old, went viral. What was it that TikToker Miranda Dolph found so interesting about Brian? He was using his own collection of CDs to play all the music. No computers. No pre-programmed playlists or recorded mixes. He was loading up the CD players and playing the music live.

Miranda posted the video of Brian playing the music with the caption "Went to a wedding and they had the cutest old DJ who used his CD collection for all the music."

As of this writing, the TikTok video has over 10 million views, which got Brian some national attention from ABC News and Brides.com. He was even a guest on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

Brian may be old school with the way he plays music, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
