President Barack Obama is scheduled to campaign for Maine Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Mike Michaud in Portland this Thursday, according to the Portland Press Herald.

The daily newspaper reported Monday that President Obama will campaign for Michaud at the Portland Exposition Center. The exact time and details surrounding the President's visit have not been released. Democrats are hoping that Obama’s visit to Maine just days before the Nov. 4 election will boost his chance of defeating Republican Gov. Paul LePage and Independent candidate Eliot Cutler.

This will also be the second time that President Obama has spoken at the Portland Expo. The President traveled to Portland in April 2010 a day after he signed the Affordable Care Act into law. The Huffington Post also reported that President Obama has canceled a few other campaign trips to other states because of the growing Ebola crisis, but as of Monday he was still scheduled to come to Maine.
