It was 30 years ago Saturday, April 1st, that Maine had one of the most devastating floods in history...

Areas around the Kennebec and Androscoggin Rivers were hit the worst with almost all of Maine declared a disaster area. Over 2500 homes and businesses were flooded with damage estimated around 100 million - and that was 30 years ago. That's 200 million today.  I moved to Maine about 3 weeks after the flood...

 

It was absolutely insane that 6 inches of rain on top of snow melt flooded Maine.

 

Do you remember the flood? Were YOU affected? Maine has had it's fair share of natural disasters - ice storms, hurricanes and floods. And of course, the snow. And yet, there is no place I'd rather be...
