5 Things That I Ranted About in 2016
As 2016 comes to an end, I can't help but think of all the times this year that I went off on a rant. Here are 5 things that happened in 2016 that just made me want to shake my fist in the air and say "You damn kids!"
Frustrating Things About Living and Working in Portland
Portland isn't the city it used to be. I live here because I have to. There are a lot of things I don't like about it and went off on several of those things, especially the rising price of parking. This is Maine not Boston!
Professional Photos Taken on Railroad Tracks
I've gone off on this absurdity several times, but no one seems to care about the dangers and thinks they have every right to take their photo on railroad tracks that are also private property. They don't even care that it's illegal! So I got all riled up on this one.
The 2016 election was a rollercoaster ride. I can't remember a time when people seemed more at odds with each other over their political opinions than this year. But when you refuse to be friends with someone in real life or on Facebook, you're going a little too far.
I was in full rant mode after I saw a woman on Commercial Street standing in an empty spot, waving people off as they would approach to park because she was saving it for someone. Rude! I let her have it...in writing.
See a pattern here? 3 rants dealing with parking. This one drive me nuts. You're so lazy that you think it's okay to pull up to the curb of the grocery store and wait in the car while someone else goes in to do the shopping? Park in a spot like the rest of us.
So there they are. Now that I've just complied these rants into this list, I'm feeling another rant coming on. Grandpa Parsons is about to go off again. Stay tuned!
