Now all Brielle has to do is find one.

Lamoine's Select Board granted a permit to 5-year-old Brielle Hamor to have a unicorn. Brielle wrote to the board to ask permission and for an application. They whipped up an application and she filled it out and it was unanimously approved by the board. As far as they know they are the first town in Maine to grant a permit for the magical unicorn.

So where can Brielle find a unicorn? I mean, they have never been proven to exist, but they also haven't been proven NOT to exist. When you google where to find a unicorn, you get some pretty interesting answers.

Magical Unicorn Life says that most unicorns live in Europe and North America, but they can be found around the World. Unicorns even live in Africa and Australia. The only continent where unicorns cannot be found is Antarctica. Makes sense.

They love forests, mountains, and meadows and Scotland is their number one destination. The most common natural environment for unicorns is a forest. The good news for Brielle, Maine is covered in forest lands. Especially in Lamoine. Where is Lamoine, Maine?

Lamoine is in Hancock County with a population right around 1,600. It's a small coastal community, a bedroom town with a conspicuous retirement component, at the head of Frenchman Bay. It is almost exclusively residential. Not a lot of industry, that's good news for unicorns who might be passing by. Good luck Brielle! We know you can catch a unicorn!
